Grease is the word, as Paramount+ announces that production has started on their new show, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies. This musical series will take us back four years before the events of Grease.

Before the Pink Ladies and T-Birds ruled the school, Rydell High was a bit square. This series will find our future ladies as four outcasts fed up with their lives. Deciding to shake things up they take matters into their own hands and start living life their own way. This choice sends a moral panic through the school and soon people realize Rydell High will never be the same.
Paramount Television Studios announced the talented new cast joining the hallowed halls of Rydell High. Marisa Davila will play Jane, Cheyenne Isabel Wells as Olivia, Ari Notartomaso will bring Cynthia to life, Tricia Fukuhara as Nancy, Shanel Bailey will play Hazel, Madison Thompson as Susan, Johnathan Nieves will be Richie, Jason Schmidt as Buddy, Maxwell Whittington-Cooper as Wally. Last but certainly not least will be Jackie Hoffman as Asst. Principal McGee.
Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies will be a 10-episode series. The musical show will be available exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. later this year. The series is written and executive produced by creator Annabel Oakes who will also serve as showrunner. Marty Bowen will executive produce for Temple Hill alongside Adam Fishbach. The talented Alethea Jones will direct the pilot along with two more episodes and will also executive produce. Erik Feig and Samie Kim Falvey will executive produce from Picturestart, with Grace Gilroy.
Since this series is a musical it will clearly need some amazingly talented choreographers and music producers. Choreography will be handled by Jamal Sims, and music will be by Grammy award nominee and executive music producer, Justin Tranter.
