The December 16 episode of The Vampire Diaries universe series, Legacies, marked the final appearance from Kaylee Bryant’s Josie Saltzman.
Bryant has been an integral part of Legacies for four seasons. First introduced in The Originals in child form, Josie and her twin Lizzie are siphon witches. Over the course of four seasons, Josie has really come into her own as a character, and her arc this season proves that where she is headed is hopefully greener pastures.
In this week’s episode, Josie finally comes to the realization that she can’t save Hope, who is still very much associated with The Salvatore School, the one place she’s trying to get away from. So, she purchases a one-way bus ticket straight out of Mystic Falls, leaving her friends, family, and girlfriend behind.
Hopefully, this isn’t the last of Josie Saltzman, but if it is, she’s been a beacon of light and hope for so many that see themselves in her, and that’s all thanks to the wonderful portrayal by Bryant.
