Following yesterday’s release of the official teaser trailer for the upcoming comedy-thriller The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, Lionsgate has now treated fans to an expletive-filled red band trailer.

Directed by Tom Gormican and co-written with Kevin Etten, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent puts Nicolas Cage in an extremely meta role … Nick Cage. Creatively unfulfilled and facing financial ruin, the fictionalized version of Cage must accept a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of a dangerous superfan (Pedro Pascal). Things take a wildly unexpected turn when Cage is recruited by a CIA operative (Tiffany Haddish) and forced to live up to his own legend, channeling his most iconic and beloved on-screen characters in order to save himself and his loved ones.

The movie also stars Neil Patrick Harris as Cage’s agent, Sharon Horgan as his ex-wife, Lily Sheen as his daughter, Ike Barinholtz, Alessandra Mastronardi, and Jacob Scipio.

Watch the red band trailer below, which is virtually the same as yesterday’s teaser, just with an added taste of the film’s hilariously colorful language, namely during the scene where Cage doesn’t realize he’s talking to the superfan that hired him in the first place.

The film’s official Twitter put out a request for fans to tweet their reactions to the trailer using the hashtag #MassiveTalent. In return, they may respond with a custom video.

In case you missed it, a selection of first look stills from the film were also released earlier this week.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent will land in theaters on April 22, 2022.
