‘Dune’: Legendary Comics Announces Official Graphic Novel Adaptation of New Film

Today, Legendary Comics (in cooperation with Herbert Properties, LLC) announced the official graphic novel adaptation of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune. The Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures film, which is based on Frank Herbert’s hit 1965 sci-fi novel of the same name, recently hit theaters.

Dune: The Official Movie Graphic Novel is adapted by writer Lilah Sturges (Lumberjanes) with art by Drew Johnson (Godzilla: Aftershock and Godzilla Dominion) and colors by digital painter Zid (Kingdom Kong) and colorist Niezam.

The graphic novel, which brings Timothée Chalamet and the all-star cast to the page through stunning visual artwork, is now available for pre-order exclusively on Kickstarter and is set to be released in February 2022. The limited-edition Kickstarter releases feature four distinct covers from Bill Sienkiewicz; Drew Johnson and Zid; John Ridgway; and Tim Sale.

Dune is a mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey that tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence — a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential — only those who can conquer their fear will survive. 

The film stars Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides, alongside Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, Chang Chen, David Dastmalchian, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa, and Javier Bardem.
