‘Sanditon’: New Images and Official Season 2 Premiere Date Released
Jane Austen fans, rejoice! We’re excited to bring you news of the much beloved Sanditon, which was renewed for a two seasons after a fan campaign that PBS simply couldn’t ignore. PBS has released official first look stills of the upcoming second season as well as an air date, March 20!
Sanditon is based on Jane Austen’s final, unfinished novel and tells the story of Charlotte Heywood, portrayed on screen by Rose Williams, as she returns to Sanditon, a costal resort. Justin Young, who wrote the first four episodes of season 1, has signed on as the lead writer and executive producer for the second and third seasons alongside Emmy and BAFTA-Award winning writer Andrew Davies.
Season 2 begins nine months after the end of season 1, where the finale left some characters reeling from broken hearts and the uncertainty of the towns’s future. However, the small destination town of Sanditon will grow in popularity as new faces arrive and join the beloved seaside community. Check out the first look images below:
Season 2 premieres Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. C on Masterpiece on PBS. There will be six episodes total for season 2.
