Star Trek celebrated its 55th birthday last night with a live celebration at the Skirball Center in Los Angeles. The event brought out a huge roster of past, present, and upcoming Trek stars. We had the chance to speak with Star Trek: Discovery stars Ian Alexander, Wilson Cruz, and Blu Del Barrio. Del Barrio and Cruz spoke about how Star Trek provides not just comfort but a sense of hope to its viewers. And how that hope is so important to maintain as we deal with such a chaotic present.
