John Malkovich, Jonathan Rhys Myers, and Ruby Modine star in a new thriller, The Survivalist, distributed by Quiver Productions.

John Malkovich has played villains before, but this role might stand out even more given the current state of the world. Set in the year following a virus that has decimated the world order, Malkovich stars as a gang leader in a lawless America seeking the blood of Ruby Modine (Mathew Modine’s daughter), who is immune to the virus. The survivalist is Jonathan Rhys Myers, who owns a Ranch in the apocalypse and is a former FBI Agent. As Modine finds refuge at Rhys Myers’ ranch, Malkovich and his gang try to take the immune woman but are unaware of how formidable their opponent is and that he will protect her at all costs. It also stars Julian Sands and Lori Petty.

The action/thriller is directed by Jon Keeyes, and executive produced by Berry Meyerowitz, Jeff Sackman, Larry Greenberg. It’s also produced by Keeyes, Jordan Yale Levine, Jordan Beckerman.

The Survivalist runs for 90 minutes and has a more realistic edge to it than before the current Covid-19 pandemic. It will be available at theaters and Video On Demand on October 1.
