With less than a month to go until Paul Schrader’s revenge thriller The Card Counter hits theaters, an official poster featuring the film’s star, Oscar Isaac, has been released.
Isaac portrays William Tell, an ex-military interrogator turned gambler haunted by the ghosts of his past decisions. Tell just wants to play cards, but his spartan existence on the casino trail is shattered when he’s approached by Cirk (Tye Sheridan), a vulnerable and angry young man seeking help to execute his plan for revenge on a military colonel (Willem Dafoe). And thus Tell sees a chance at redemption through his relationship with Cirk. But keeping Cirk on the straight-and-narrow proves impossible, dragging Tell back into the darkness of his past. Tiffany Haddish also stars.
