‘Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings’ Gets New Poster & Featurette!

Marvel Studios

With just over a month until Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings premieres Marvel has released a new featurette and official poster.

The featurette takes us behind-the-scenes with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, stars Simu Liu and Awkwafina, and the film’s director Destin Daniel Cretton.

In the video, Feige confirms that Shang-Chi will link back to the film that started it all — Iron Man — in some capacity due to the Ten Rings organization. There are still questions out about where the film fits into the MCU timeline, with some speculating it occurs during the Blip, while others theorize it takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame. While we likely won’t get an answer to this until the film premieres, knowing there will be a link back to Iron Man adds to the suspense of what questions from MCU history this film will answer.

The official poster for Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings has also been released!

The film stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Tony Leung as Wenwu, Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s friend Katy, and Michelle Yeoh as Jiang Nan, as well as Fala Chen, Meng’er Zhang, Florian Munteanu, and Ronny Chieng. From previous trailers we also know that Benedict Wong’s Wong will also make an appearance alongside another big Marvel character, Abomination!

Get ready to explore the backstory of Shang-Chi, the Ten Rings Organization, and experience an entirely new hero as he faces his past and his father. “He has to learn how to own every part of himself,” director Destin Daniel Cretton said of the character, “If he doesn’t allow himself to look at all of it — the good, the bad, the light and the dark — and to own it all, he won’t be able to reach his full potential.”

Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings premieres in theaters on Friday, September 3.
