Like with the majority of previous Riverdale season posters, the backdrop is Pop’s Diner as a fog rolls over the town. The entire gang is featured with the Core Four dead center and all 10 of them seem like they are on a mission. The new Riverdale poster doesn’t reveal too much but still says a lot.

The official description for the midseason premiere of Riverdale, “Chapter Eighty-Seven: Strange Bedfellows” reads:

RETURN TO RIVERDALE — In the aftermath of the prison break at Hiram’s (Mark Consuelos) jail, Archie (KJ Apa) leads the charge to round up the remaining convicts on the loose. Tabitha (Erinn Westbrook) reaches out for Betty’s (Lili Reinhart) help when she realizes Jughead (Cole Sprouse) is missing. When Penelope (guest star Nathalie Boltt) re-enters the fold, Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) becomes suspicious of her true intentions.  Camila Mendes, Madchen Amick, Casey Cott, Charles Melton and Drew Ray Tanner also star. Tessa Blake directed the episode written by Aaron Allen (#511).  Original airdate 8/11/2021.

Check out photos from the premiere here and the promo here. “Chapter Eighty-Seven: Strange Bedfellows” premieres Wednesday, August 11 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on The CW, streaming free the next day on The CW app!
