The world of The Witcher is expanding later this summer. The animated prequel The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf will premiere on August 23 on Netflix.

Nightmare of the Wolf follows Geralt of Rivia’s mentor and father figure, Vesemir, before the events of The Witcher. Vesemir was the oldest and most experienced witcher in the 13th century. He was one of the few members of the School of the Wolf, a headquarters for witchers, to survive the assault on Kaer Morhen.
