‘WandaVision’ Picks Up Seven Nominations for the HCA TV Awards

The Hollywood Critics Association revealed their nominations for their first ever annual television awards today and WandaVision picked up seven total nominations!

The series is nominated for Best Streaming Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Live-Action Television Movie, alongside Hamilton, Small Axe, The Queen’s Gambit, and The Underground Railroad.

All of the main stars also picked up major nominations:

  • Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch) for Best Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Television Movie
  • Paul Bettany (Vision) for Best Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Television Movie
  • Kathryn Hahn (Agnes/Agatha Harkness) for Best Supporting Actress in Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Television Movie
  • Teyonah Parris (Captain Monica Rambeau) for Best Supporting Actress in Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Television Movie
  • Kat Dennings (Darcy Lewis) for Best Supporting Actress in Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Television Movie
  • Randall Park (Agent Jimmy Woo) for Best Supporting Actor in Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Television Movie

WandaVision kicked off Marvel’s Phase 4 after a shakeup due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It premiered on Disney+ in January and was received with acclaim from critics and viewers alike. The world was smitten with the series and its ability to create a superhero story within a love letter to the decades of television. It took a new approach to the superhero genre, focusing on Wanda Maximoff’s grief as its main antagonist.
