Nominations for the inaugural Hollywood Critics Association TV Awards have been announced! After making a literal difference metaphorically, Bo Burnham’s newest Netflix special Inside has been nominated under the category for Best Streaming Sketch Series, Variety Series, Talk Show, or Comedy/Variety Special.

The intensely personal special which released May 30 of this year has received overwhelmingly positive feedback. Labeled as a comedy special, Inside is an hour-and-a-half long collage of songs, monologues and meta-footage that Burnham wrote, filmed, and edited in its entirety by himself for over a year in his guest house in LA. Beyond the comedy, the special has received high praise for the editing, lights and overall filmography used by Burnham under such unique conditions for a comedy special: in one room with no crew and no audience. Inside is Burnham’s first comedy special since 2016 following a five-year break.

The awards will take place August 22 at the Avalon Hollywood. In the meantime, check out Inside on Netflix (if you haven’t already!) and find the songs available to stream here.
