Paul Mescal is set to join Saoirse Ronan and LaKeith Stanfield in Foe, a sci-fi thriller based on the novel by Iain Reid. The film will be directed by Garth Davis, who is best known for directing the Oscar nominated film Lion. Foe will follow Junior (Mescal) and Hen (Ronan), a couple happily married for seven years on an isolated farm. Their world is changed when Terrance (Stanfield) shows up with a proposition. Junior has been selected to join an experimental space station for two years, leaving Hen behind. But she won’t be alone while he’s gone, and so begins a psychological battle between the three where nothing is as it seems.

Foe will begin filming in January, with no word yet on a release date. Mescal recently won a BAFTA for his breakout performance in Normal People.
