Deadline has revealed that Mason Gooding (Love, Victor), Lukas Gage (Euphoria), and Emily Rudd (The Romanoffs) will join the upcoming HBO Max original movie Moonshot. The trio will join the previously announced Cole Sprouse and Lana Condor.
Described as “a romantic comedy with a sci-fi twist,” Moonshot takes place in the future when Mars is terraformed and colonized by humanity’s best. The movie will follow two college students who form an unlikely team up to sneak aboard a space shuttle headed for Mars, to reunite with their significant others.
Chris Winterbauer will direct the screenplay by Max Taxe. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Jill McElroy, and Jenna Sarkin are set to produce. Mike McGrath and Dana Fox will executive produce.
