Release Date for ‘Pokémon Brilliant Diamond’ and ‘Shining Pearl’ Announced

Share:

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Pokémon trainers would be returning to the Sinnoh region soon enough with long-awaited remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, aptly titled Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. As of today, we now finally have a confirmed release date for the titles — November 19, 2021!

Originally born for the Nintendo DS system, trainers will now be able to experience adventures in Sinnoh on the Nintendo Switch. A faithful reproduction of the original story, the sense of scale in the originals’ towns and routes has been carefully preserved. The game will include player-friendly conveniences found in the modern Pokémon series, as well as close-up battle scenes.

Nintendo has shared an early look at the box art for the games, including a double pack that will feature both games (to be released on the same day!)

Watch the original announcement trailer for the remakes below.

Pre-orders for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are now available. In the meantime, get started thinking about choosing your starter Pokémon for your journey through Sinnoh! Will it be Turtwig, Chimchar, or Piplup?
