After receiving a pilot order by The CW, Ava DuVernay’s upcoming superhero show, Naomi, has been officially picked up to series! The CW has yet to unveil their full Fall and midseason 2021-2022 lineup, but Naomi is expected to premiere on the network somewhere within that time frame.

Based on the limited comic series by Brian Michael Bendis, Jamal Campbell, and David F. Walker, Naomi follows Naomi McDuffie, a teenager who journeys from her small town into the expanse of the multiverse. After a supernatural event shakes her town to its core, Naomi sets out to discover its origins, challenging our beliefs of superheroes.

Naomi stars Kaci Walfall in the title role, Cranston Johnson, Alexander Wraith, Camila Moreno, Mouzam Makkar, Barry Watson, Daniel Puig, Aidan Gemme, and Mary-Charles Jones. The show is executive produced by DuVernay and Jill Blankenship (Arrow), along with Sarah Bremner and Paul Garnes. Amanda Marsalis directed and executive produced the pilot episode.

Stay tuned for more updates on Naomi! Make sure to also follow the show on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
