Fans of Prodigal Son have been making their voices heard in recent days after the news that the FOX drama was not renewed for a third season. But fans are not just using their social media presence to find a new home for the series. In order to show how much the series has meant to them, the “Prodigies” have also started a fundraiser to benefit To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA) in honor of the leading character, Malcolm Bright.

Malcolm (played by Tom Payne) is diagnosed with complex PTSD and is shown living with the diagnosis throughout Prodigal Son. The show has received praise from fans for its frank and stigma-free approach to mental health, not to mention Payne’s performance in the role. TWLOHA is an organization “presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide” that donates directly to recovery organizations and provides tools to help those living with mental illness.

To participate in the fundraiser, you can head to the official page set up by the Prodigal Saviors, a group of Prodigies campaigning via Twitter to save Prodigal Son. For all the latest details, be sure to keep checking back with Nerds and Beyond!
