ABC Renews ‘The Good Doctor’ for Season 5

The doctors at San Jose St. Bonaventure are practicing medicine for another year! ABC has renewed The Good Doctor for a fifth season.

According to Deadline, the medical drama’s renewal marks ABC’s first scripted renewal of the broadcast season. The network reported that The Good Doctor delivers a 2.98 rating for season 4 after 35 days of delayed viewing on linear and digital platforms, up 397% over its live+same day average adults 18-49. The series ranks as number one in the Monday 10pm slot with 7.1 million total viewers.

The Good Doctor follows Dr. Shaun Murphy, a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome, who uses his extraordinary medical gifts at St. Bonaventure Hospital’s surgical unit. It stars Freddie Highmore, Antonia Thomas, Hill Harper, Richard Schiff, Will Yun Lee, Fiona Gubelmann, Christina Chang, and Paige Spara.

The Good Doctor airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT on ABC, streaming the next day on Hulu.
