Elizabeth Olsen Set to Star in ‘Love and Death’ for HBO Max
After the massive success of her Disney+ series, WandaVision, Elizabeth Olsen is heading back to the small screen.
Olsen has been cast in the upcoming limited series Love and Death based on the true story of Candy Montgomery, a woman who murdered her friend from church with an axe in 1980. Olsen will play Montgomery. The show will draw its inspiration from the book Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs and a collection of articles from Texas Monthly titles Love and Death in Silicon Prairie, Part I and II.
The series will be written by David E. Kelley, who is also executive producing alongside Nicole Kidman. Lesli Linka will direct.
The chairman of Lionsgate Television had the following to say of the casting, “We cannot imagine a more perfect artist to play the leading role of Candy than Elizabeth Olsen. Her talent, charisma and energy can bewitch audiences like no other. We’re proud to be collaborating with a world-class creative team of Lesli, David and Nicole on this thrilling and intriguing series and to bring another exciting premium property to our partners at HBO Max.”
Love and Death will explore a story about the frustrations of these two women in their small town life and how it built to end in an explosive act of violence.
