Along with the announcement of Jonathan Kent getting his solo comic series Superman: Son of Kal-El, Another series Superman and the Authority is also being released. Grant Morrison who penned the iconic All Star Superman, will return as the writer for the limited series alongside artist Mikel Janín (Batman, Future State: Superman: Worlds of War).

The Authority has been around since the late 90s, and the new four-part series will see original members Midnighter and Apollo team up with new members Enchantress and Natasha Irons, and new versions of Lightray and O.M.A.C. The operation will be led by Manchester Black. DC Comics notes that the new limited series will “impact both Action Comics and Superman: Son of Kal-El in the months to come.”

“This new team will have to learn to work together, and fast, as the Ultra-Humanite has formed his own team of villains to take out the Man of Steel.”

Superman and the Authority will launch July 20 in comic book stores and participating digital platforms.
