Adam Sandler’s Netflix film Spaceman just added Promising Young Woman Best Actress Oscar nominee Carey Mulligan to the cast.
The film, based on Jarosalv Kalfar’s novel, was previously known as The Spaceman of Bohemia and follows an astronaut (Sandler) who was sent to the edge of the galaxy to collect some mysterious ancient dust. Unfortunately he soon finds his life on earth falling to pieces, and he turns to the one voice who can help him get it back together: a strange creature from the beginning of time who’s lurking on his ship. Mulligan is set to play the wife of Sandler’s character, with Chernobyl helmer Johan Renck set to direct the adapted screenplay by Colby Day.
Spaceman marks Mulligan’s fifth collaboration with Netflix, inculding Oscar nominated Mudbound, The Dig with Ralph Fiennes, the 2018 BBC mini-series Collateral, and the upcoming Bradley Cooper Leonard Bernstein movie Maestro. Mulligan also just appeared in Promising Young Woman, which scored five Oscar nominations – including Best Actress for Mulligan. She also pulled in nominations for Golden Globe Best Actress Drama and Female Lead Actor at SAGs for the role. The Westminster London native has had a notable career thus far and it seems to be on a continuing upward trend, and we look forward to seeing her in Spaceman.
