After the critical and popular success of Normal People, the team behind the hit series has reunited to adapt author Sally Rooney’s first book, Conversations With Friends, and the cast has just been announced! Jemima Kirke, Joe Alwyn, Sasha Lane, and Alison Oliver will make up the central quartet of characters in the 12 part miniseries. Conversations With Friends follows best friends and former romantic partners Frances (Oliver) and Bobbi (Lane) as they find themselves increasingly enmeshed in the life of a married couple (Kirke and Alwyn). Both women find their moral boundaries tested as they spend more time with the couple, and it threatens to shatter their bond.

The series will feature Lenny Abrahamson returning as the director alongside Leanne Welham, with Normal People writer Alice Birch teaming up with Mark O’Halloran, Meadhbh McHugh, and Susan Soon He Stanton. The BBC/Hulu coproduction will premiere in 2022 and will again be filmed in Dublin, Ireland, like much of Normal People.
