This past Christmas, Netflix viewers unwrapped an action-packed gift in the form of Robert Rodriguez’s latest film — We Can Be Heroes.
In We Can Be Heroes, alien invaders kidnap Earth’s mighty superheroes, who are known as the Heroics. Amidst the madness, their children are all whisked away to a government safe house. Soon enough, the young and brilliant Missy Moreno (YaYa Gosselin) realizes that the fate of her superhero dad Marcus Moreno (Pedro Pascal) and the rest of their parents may be resting on their shoulders now. She and the rest of the superkids must team up in order to escape their mysterious government babysitter, Ms. Granada (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), and learn how to use their individual powers to form an out-of-this-world team.
Directed by Robert Rodriguez (Spy Kids, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl), We Can Be Heroes also stars Boyd Holbrook, Christian Slater, Chris McDonald, Adriana Barraza, Taylor Dooley, and more.
Rodriguez took to social media today to share some exciting news — 44 million families thus far have tuned in to watch We Can Be Heroes. And that’s not all … a sequel is officially in development with Netflix!
