‘Come Play’ Coming Soon to Digital, DVD, and Blu-ray

Universal Pictures brings us the latest thriller, Come Play, which is set to be released on Digital January 12, 2021 and on Blu-ray, Demand, and DVD on January 26, 2021. Come Play stars John Gallagher Jr. (Westworld), Winslow Fegley (Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made), Azhy Robertson (Marriage Story), and Gillian Jacobs ( Community). It is written and directed by Jacob Chase and produced by The Picture Company for Amblin Partners. This newest thriller is based Chase’s original film Larry, which dives into connecting isolation and technology with attention keeping storytelling. The main character, Oliver, is a special child that has a hard time connecting with his peers, so he finds friendship with a strange companion through his tablet and phone. Soon, Oliver and his family rush to save themselves and each other. The film’s creature was designed by none other than Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, which is well known for its incredible puppets.

Desperate for a friend, Oliver (Robertson), a lonely boy who feels different from everyone else, seeks solace and refuge in his ever-present cell phone and tablet. When a mysterious creature uses Oliver’s devices against him to break into our world, Oliver’s parents (Jacobs and Gallagher Jr.) must fight to save their son from the monster beyond the screen.
