Legendary Comics has announced that for the first time, fans will be able to purchase Annihilator in paperback. The paperback edition is filled with bonus material, all six issues, new alternative covers from artist Frazer Irving (Batman and Robin), and will come with a new special introduction written by actor Christopher Meloni (Man of Steel). Here is a sneak peek at the opening,

“Here is the master storyteller exercising (exorcising?) his restless mind, his demanding imagination and bringing gothic horror sci-fi present-day futuristic mind bend time bend anti-hero saga…and I know I left a half dozen descriptors out.”

When talking about Annihilator, writer of the graphic novel Grant Morrison (Fantastic Four) says,

“‘Annihilator’ is a personal favorite of mine – written to showcase the unique, incredible artwork of Frazer Irving and as a love letter to the larger-than-life characters and witchy, diabolical undercurrents of Los Angeles and Hollywood, my beloved second home! I hope this softcover collection attracts a whole new audience to our tale of black holes, love betrayed, guerrilla screenwriting, and dodgy deals with the devil!”

The 2014 comic is about Ray Spass, a washed-up screenwriter in Los Angeles. His life is falling apart in all aspects of relationships, and spending all his time partying and being self-destructive. He is only one script away from becoming a nameless no one. Ray’s imagination runs wild as he teams up with a fictional character named Max Nomax that he wrote. “Can they stop the world from imploding without blowing his own mind in the process?”
