Like many events, the pandemic has affected Film2Future has announced that they cannot be held in person. But there is still a way to celebrate their class of emerging filmmakers for 2020. This year will be the first time Film2Future will hold their Gala Celebration virtually. Titled “Origins: At the Beginning” on Thursday, November 19, at 7 p.m. P.T.
During the gala hosted by Andy Allo (Pitch Perfect 3), student short films with the theme of origin stories will be premiered, a spoken word performance by Joseph Lucero (Mayans M.C.), appearances from other cast members of Mayans M.C., a special performance from Mariachi Voz Juvenil, showrunner LaToya Morgan (Shameless, Parenthood, Into the Badlands) will be honored as the 2020 Changemaker Honoree, and many other surprises as well.

Film2Future is a non-profit in Los Angeles founded by Rachel Miller. They provide young filmmakers from underserved communities with the resources to begin their film careers and get their voices heard and stories told. “Together, we are working to manifest the future of a diverse and inclusive entertainment industry.
