Another season, another enormous disaster.

From plane crashes, to earthquakes, to tsunamis, to massive trail derailments — there’s never a dull moment on FOX’s epic procedural drama 9-1-1. Starring Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds, Kenneth Choi, Ryan Guzman, and Rockmond Dunbar, the show follows the harrowing, high-pressure experiences of first responders, most notably the firefighters of Station 118 in Los Angeles.

With just a few months to go until the highly anticipated premiere of the fourth season, FOX has shared a new clip from the upcoming premiere.

The clip opens with Maddie responding to a 911 call, and we learn that a Los Angeles dam has broken — which will cause disastrous mudslides throughout the city. Athena’s daughter May (Corrine Massiah) is working at the dispatch center, which ties in with her conversation with Maddie in the season 3 finale. Some characters throughout are wearing masks, meaning that the show will indeed encapsulate the coronavirus pandemic in some capacity. As the teaser comes to an end, The famous Hollywood Sign begins to crumble.

As per FOX,

The fourth season premiere of ‘9-1-1’ kicks off with another jaw-dropping signature disaster that only Los Angeles’ finest and fearless first responders can handle.  After a devastating 8.0 earthquake and coastal tsunami wreaked havoc in the city, what could possibly be next? Meanwhile, among the chaos, Athena is determined to put her physical and emotional injuries behind her and jump back into the job, as Maddie and Chimney prepare for the birth of their baby, and Buck delves into his past to help deal with his present.

Season 4 of 9-1-1 will premiere on FOX on January 18 at 8 p.m. EST, followed by season 2 of the spin-off series 9-1-1: Lone Star.
