Quarantine may be a drag, but Mindy Kaling is keeping busy. The writer/producer/actor has lined up another project with HBO Max. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Kaling will be producing and starring in an adaptation of Jennifer Weiner’s debut novel Good in Bed. The book is set to be adapted as a feature film, which will debut as an original movie for HBO Max. Liz Sarnoff (Barry) will write the screenplay. Howard Klein, Jake Weiner, and Chris Bender will produce alongside Kaling.

Good in Bed follows Cannie Shapiro, whose mother has “come charging out of the closet” and her father who walked out on Cannie’s life long ago, but she still lives a fairly good life. However, one day, she discovers an article in a magazine titled “Loving a Larger Woman,” written by her ex-boyfriend. Soon, Cannie’s happiness turns into misery as she faces her past and figures who she is and who she can become.

Though there’s currently no confirmation on who Kaling will play, it’s likely she’ll take up the lead role of Cannie. No further details are currently confirmed. Stay tuned for more updates!
