‘The Boys’ PaleyFest NY Panel Now Available!

The second wave of programming for the 8th annual PaleyFest NY by the Paley Center for Media has just arrived!

Last Friday, October 23, discussions with the cast and crew behind Supernatural, Eli Roth’s History of Horror, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, and The Undoing were released via Verizon Media’s Yahoo Entertainment.

More programming from the 2020 lineup was released this evening, including a highly anticipated panel with the talent behind Amazon Prime Video’s hit series The Boys.

The Boys, which is based on the comic book series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, is set in a world where superheroes exist. Unfortunately, many of them are twisted and deviant, letting the fame that comes with their powers go to their heads. The Seven, a group of celebrity Supes owned by the villainous corporation Vought, are the worst of the lot. The Boys, a ragtag group of wayward vigilantes all wronged by Supes in one way or another, risk their lives to fight back and take them down once and for all.

This panel arrives on the heels of the explosive second season of The Boys, the final episode of which premiered earlier this month. Make sure to check out our review and recaps of season 2!

Moderated by Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s Melissa Fumero, the discussion features Karl Urban (Billy Butcher), Karen Fukuhara (Kimiko), Chace Crawford (The Deep), Erin Moriarty (Starlight), Laz Alonso (Mother’s Milk), Aya Cash (Stormfront), Jessie T. Usher (A-Train), Stephan Fleet (VFX Supervisor), and LJ Shannon (Supersuits Designer), with special appearances by Jack Quaid (Hughie) and Antony Starr (Homelander).

Topics include:

Urban’s reaction to the game-changing season two finale; why Moriarty finds fight scenes cathartic; what went into Fleet’s epic sequence involving a power boat’s gut-spewing collision with a fabricated whale; elements of the show that prove “sadly relevant” due to recent headlines; Crawford and Fumero’s memories of working together a decade ago on TV’s ‘Gossip Girl’; Alonso’s shock at discovering last-minute script changes for his character’s intimate encounter with an X-rated adversary; and the panelists’ choices for the most outrageous scenes that didn’t make the final cut.
