The newest horror movie of 2020 will star Crispin Glover and 9-1-1: Lone Star‘s Ronen Rubinstein. Smiley Face Killers is based on the actual events and conspiracy theories that have risen on the Internet as a result of serial deaths of young men that shared common characteristics, such as popular, athletic, and all-white from the late 1990s-2010s. The deaths were supposedly connected by a wall being graffitied with a smiley face, hence the name, Smiley Face Killer.

Watch the first trailer below, which will be releasing on the official Lionsgate At Home YouTube channel tomorrow, October 6, at 12 p.m. ET/11 a.m. CT here.

Smiley Face Killers, which is written and produced by famed novelist Bret Easton Ellis of American Psycho, follows Jake Graham (Rubinstein). He struggles to keep his life together at school, following a strange wave of mysterious drownings of male college students along the California coast. “Finding himself stalked by a hooded figure (Glover) driving an unmarked van, Jake fears he may become the next victim in the killers’ horrific spree.” The film also stars Amadeus Serafini, Mia Serafino, Garrett Coffey, Ashley Rickards, and Cody Simpson.

Smiley Face Killers comes out on Digital and On Demand on Tuesday, December 8!
