Good news for The Matrix fans — the film’s release date has been pushed up five months! Instead of debuting April 1, 2022, Warner Bros. has announced that The Matrix 4 will now provide us with a Christmas miracle, opening Wednesday, December 22, 2021. The Wachowski sisters, Keanu Reeves, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Carrie Anne-Moss are all set to return for the fourth installment, with The Matrix newcomers Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henick, Jonathan Groff, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Andrew Caldwell, and Neil Patrick Harris.

As we previously reported, Dune has also shifted from December 18, 2020, to October 1, 2021.

Before the newest installment hits theaters, you can catch up on the first three films on HBO Max now.
