First Teaser for ‘Des’ Starring David Tennant Revealed
David Tennant is a man with many faces, playing everything from a quirky time traveller to a Shakespearean hero, a demon with a great taste in music, or a detective plagued by his inner demons. In Des, however, Tennant will play the role of real-life serial killer Dennis Nilsen – and a first teaser has just been released.
Coming to ITV in September, Des will mostly tell the story of a biographer meeting Nilsen in prison to write about his life and his crimes, as well as include Nilsen’s conviction. He was convicted of 12 murders in the late 197os and early 1980s, with more possible victims that could not be tied to him directly in court.
Even though this is not the first time Tennant has played a killer (he starred as Cale Erendreich in Bad Samaritan), this is the first time he’s taken a role based on a real-life murderer. Tennant’s transformation into Nilsen is uncanny, both in looks and voice.
