In an eventful few days for movie delays, Paramount has shifted the release dates of two of its biggest potential blockbusters. Deadline first reported that A Quiet Place 2 will be delayed until April 23, 2021. It was originally set for release in March but was moved to Labor Day weekend early in the coronavirus pandemic. The film is the sequel to the critically and commercially acclaimed A Quiet Place and is directed by John Krasinski. The movie stars Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe, Cillian Murphy, and Djimon Hounsou.

Top Gun: Maverick has been delayed repeatedly for a variety of reasons, originally scheduled for July 12, 2019, then delayed to June 26, 2020, then delayed to December 23 due to the coronavirus. Now, it has been moved yet again to July 2, 2021. The film is a sequel to the 1986 hit Top Gun, which also starred Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer who both reprise their roles in the sequel. The film features Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, and Ed Harris.
