Make Your Way Back to the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’ as Disneyland Plans Phased Reopening in July

Great news, Disney parks fans! Beginning July 17, you’ll be able to experience the “happiest place on earth” again as Disneyland has announced its phased reopening plans, pending state and local government approval.

From July 17, Disney plans to reopen the Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure. The parks will have enhanced health and safety measures in place, including physical distancing measures and a significantly reduced park capacity. Guests will be required to make an advance reservation in order to guarantee entry to the parks.

Experiences that do not allow for social distancing or that draw large crowds, including parades, night-time spectaculars and character meet and greets, will be temporarily unavailable. However, characters will still be present around the parks to entertain and bring magic to your day.

Following the parks reopening, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa (including Disney Vacation Club Villas) and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel plan to reopen July 23.

If you cannot do without Disney magic for that long, then you can visit Downtown Disney District, which will begin reopening July 9. Increased health and safety measures will be in place so that you can get your fix of Disney food and merchandise safely.

More information on the parks’ reservation system and health and safety procedures will be released soon. In order to manage the new reservation system, there has been a temporary pause on new tickets sales. Make sure you keep an eye on Disney Parks Blog for more updates.
