A brand new Star Trek series was announced today, titled Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The series, which was just set to order, will follow Captain Pike, Spock, and Number One on the U.S.S. Enterprise.

Anson Mount, Ethan Peck and Rebecca Romijn will return to reprise their roles from Star Trek: Discovery.

“Fans fell in love with Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, and Ethan Peck’s portrayals of these iconic characters when they were first introduced on Star Trek: Discovery last season,” said Julie McNamara, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming, CBS All Access. “This new series will be a perfect complement to the franchise, bringing a whole new perspective and series of adventures to Star Trek.”

For those Supernatural fans, Davy Perez will produce the series alongside Aaron Baiers, and Akela Cooper. Akiva Goldsman (who wrote the series premiere) will join Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet as executive producers, along with Henry Alonso Myers, Heather Kadin, Rod Roddenberry, and Trevor Roth. The story is by Goldsman, Kurtzman and Lumet.
