The Great British Baking Show has released a tweet to announce that Matt Lucas is joining the show as a new host.

It was announced back in January that beloved host Sandi Toksvig would be stepping down to focus on other work. The tweet shows Matt Lucas practising his hosting skills alongside returning host, Noel Fielding. Although we will miss Sandi, the new duo appear to be a great combination and look as though they will be hilarious.

Matt Lucas is a famous British comedian who you may recognise from the sketch comedy Little Britain, in his role as Nardole in Doctor Who or as Tweedledum and Tweedledee in Disney’s live-action Alice in Wonderland.

We can’t wait to see Matt in action when the new series returns. We wish him the best of luck in his new role.
