It’s been quite a while since we’ve heard news about The Buddy Games, directed by Josh Duhamel. The last we heard was that it premiered at the Mammoth Film Festival in February 2019, but nothing else has been known since then.

Now, Nick Swardson has posted on his Instagram some exciting news — a release date! The Buddy Games will officially release on May 6, 2020. Although we don’t know if this is a theater release or streaming release, fans can be assured to be able to see the film this year.

The Buddy Games is the directorial debut for Josh Duhamel (Love, Simon, Safe Haven) and stars Dax Shepard, Olivia Munn, Nick Swordson, with an appearance by Supernatural‘s Jensen Ackles. IMDb describes the movie as, “A group of friends reunite to play The Buddy Games, a wild assortment of absurd physical and mental challenges. In the process, they’ll heal old wounds, right past wrongs and figure out the true meaning of friendship… or die trying.”
