The galaxy is smaller than you think! On your next visit to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, located at Disneyland and Walt Disney World resorts, you might just run into everybody’s favorite droid and fussy protocol droid C-3PO’s best friend: R2-D2!

The resourceful and brave little astromech droid has joined the cast of familiar faces of Disneyland resort’s newest theme park. If you’re lucky, you might even catch R2-D2 gladding around during your next visit to Batuu in Disneyland Park.

You may not be able to bring home R2-D2 but, you can bring home your own Droid companion by visiting the Droid Depot. Visitors to the park will be able to build their own custom astromech droid unit. Choose from either an R-series or BB-series and watch as droid parts make their way down conveyor belts. Then, place your finished droid in an activation station and watch them come to life. Don’t forget droids are as unique as the creator who built them and can be further customized with personality-affiliation chips, color panels, and other accessories. Watch as your newly customized droid interacts with other droids. The Droid Depot offers advance reservations up to 60 days in advance and are available via the Disneyland Resort website or the Disneyland app.

Don’t forget to checkout the newest attraction Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance . Blur fantasy and reality as you climb aboard a transport shuttle right before being captured by a Star Destroyer, finding yourself stuck in the middle of an epic battle between the dark side of the First Order and the light side of the Resistance. The new attraction launches at Disneyland park on January 17, 2020 after opening December 5, 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort.

Safe travels, and may the force be with you!
