Lost and Once Upon A Time alums Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz have a new fairytale drama in the works. Epic, which will feature former Once writer Brigitte Hales as showrunner, is now in development at ABC and will feature similar themes as the long running Once. The official synposis released reads:

Epic is a romantic anthology series set in the fairytale universe of Disney. Taking place in a Disney-like Enchanted Forest, it will center on a whole new set of new heroes, villains, princes, princesses and all manner of magical beings. While it will pay homage to the classic signposts we’re all familiar with from the stories we grew up with, Epic will endeavor to create a whole new batch of characters as it explores love in all its forms.

Hales joined Once Upon a Time as a writer in season five and remained with the show until its finale. Kitsis and Horowitz started as writers for the massive ABC hit Lost before creating Once Upon A Time. Once told the story of fairytale characters cursed to live in our world with no memory of their lives in the Enchanted Forest. It ran for seven seasons on ABC from 2011-2018 and starred Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Lana Parrilla, Josh Dallas, Jared S. Gilmore, Robert Carlyle, Emilie de Ravin, Meghan Ory, Colin O’Donoghue, Michael Raymond-James, Rebecca Mader, Sean Maguire, Andrew J. West, Dania Ramirez, Gabrielle Anwar, Alison Fernandez, and Mekia Cox among many others.
