If you haven’t been living under a rock for the past four years, you have heard of Lin-Manuel Miranda. If not from his roles in current hit-show His Dark Materials on HBO or his role in Mary Poppins Returns, then it’s for his involvement in the Disney hit Moana or – more likely – his involvement in Broadway hit and international phenomenon Hamilton.

Hamilton, however, was not Miranda’s first venture into musical theater. After graduating from Wesleyan University, Miranda wrote a musical called In The Heights, which takes place in his home-neighborhood of Washington Heights in New York. It tells the story of a block and the people living there, from the corner shop owner to the girl who wanted nothing but to escape this neighborhood all her life. The musical won several prestigious Tony Awards in 2008, including Best Musical and Best Original Store.

Now, this musical will be brought to life on film and the first poster has been revealed on Twitter (seen above). The lead role of Usnavi (which was originally played by Lin-Manuel Miranda himself) will be played by Hamilton-alumnus Anthony Ramos, with other roles starring actors such as Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Stephanie Beatriz (playing Carla) as well as a returning star from the original production, Olga Merediz, who will reprise her role as Abuela Claudia. Miranda himself will have an appearance in a small role as well.

The movie is set to be released in summer 2020. Check out the trailer below!

The full trailer is set to be released tomorrow so keep an eye here. In The Heights will hit theaters June 26.
