See Who Won at the American Music Awards

Share:

The world’s largest fan-voted award show broadcasted live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California, on Sunday, November 24. I am talking about, of course, the 47th American Music Awards (AMA), hosted by singer, songwriter, and dancer Ciara.

Some of the presenters during the award show included Constance Wu, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jenna Dewan, Ben Platt, Paula Abdul, Dan Levy, Cobie Smulders, and Regina King.

During the talent-filled night, there were some fantastic performances and even some records getting broken. This year saw the first AMA performance from Lizzo. Winning her first AMA award was Halsey. Billy Ray Cyrus won his first AMA in more than thirty years for featuring in the song “Old Town Road” with Lil Nas X. Carrie Underwood now holds the title for the most wins of the Favourite Country Album category.

Mentioning performances this year was on point. Returning to the stage for her first televised performance in two years was Selena Gomez. The Jonas Brothers “Only Human,” Toni Braxton “Un-Break My Heart,” Halsey “Graveyard,” Lizzo “Jerome,” Post Malone with Travis Scott, Ozzy Osbourne, and Watt “Take What You Want,” and more. For the end of the show, returning to the stage for the first time in 16 years, showing us that she’s still the one, was country music icon, Shania Twain.

It indeed was Taylor Swift’s night. She put on an amazing performance singing a mashup of her hits from the last ten years. Was honored as the artist of the decade, which was presented to her by singer/songwriter Carole King. Plus, she also won six awards, breaking the record for the most American Music Award wins of all time, surpassing Michael Jackson.
