Hey Upper East Siders, we’ve got some news that may be of interest to you. Kristen Bell will return to the world of Gossip Girl and narrate the upcoming sequel series on HBO Max. The new series from original creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage with writer/executive producer Josh Safran will follow a new group of rich kids eight years after the original as they deal with their own “Gossip Girl” in the age of social media. It received a straight to series order of ten episodes, with no word yet on an air-date or other casting.

Bell narrated all 121 episodes of the original series. She did not appear onscreen until the finale episode where she appeared as herself. She can be seen on the final season of The Good Place on NBC, the new season of Veronica Mars on Hulu, and as a voice in Frozen 2 on November 22.

Gossip Girl aired on The CW from 2007-2012 and was based on the best selling novels by Cecily von Ziegesar. The original cast included Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, Taylor Momsen, Ed Westwick, Kelly Rutherford, Matthew Settle, Jessica Szohr, and Kaylee DeFer.
