New Full-Length Trailer for ‘Watchmen’ Released
The upcoming HBO series Watchmen, from Damon Lindelof (The Leftovers, Lost), has released a new full-length trailer for the ten-episode first season that is meant to be a continuation from the graphic novel created by Alan Moore.
The show is set in Tulsa, Oklahoma in an alternate history where vigilantes are perceived as criminals. It follows detective Angela Abar (Regina King), who is also one of the masked vigilantes. Currently, not a lot of the character information is known and how many may be loosely based on the comic series, if any. Another thing the series is doing is undertaking real-world issues.
In the trailer, Laurie Blake (Jean Smart) thinks that the vigilantes wear the masks to hide their pain from traumas they have gone through, but King’s character replies that it is to hide her identity. There are mentions of a militia group known as the seventh cavalry, who are domestic terrorists that wear Rorschach masks while starting a war. It appears that everyone has a mask on, domestic terrorists, vigilantes, and even the cops with their bright yellow half-face covers.
The series will star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Adelaide Clemens, Edward Crook, Frances Fisher, Regina King, Don Johnson, Louis Gossett Jr., Andrew Howard, Jeremy Irons, Christie Amery, and many more.
The music of the show will be composed by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, who have done music together before on the movie The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and others.
Watchmen will premiere on HBO Sunday, October 20. Watch the latest trailer below!
