Creative Beast Studio Collaborates with Award-Winning Artist Ezra Tucker on New Dinosaur Action Figure Package Art
Creative Beast Studio has revealed the package art from a collaboration with award-winning wildlife artist Ezra Tucker for the upcoming “Beasts of the Mesozoic” Monoclonius crassus action figure. Ezra is one of the original artists responsible for the Tyco Dino Riders package art image, and his participation in the “Beasts of the Mesozoic” dinosaur action figures line is significant to Creative Beast Studio owner David Silva, who considers Ezra’s work one of his biggest influences as a child. The new artwork can be seen below:
In just under one week, Creative Beast Studio will launch a new Kickstarter campaign to support a second series of “Beasts of the Mesozoic” dinosaur action figures. They will focus on the horned ceratopsian dinosaurs this time, the 1/18 to scale figures will feature several points of articulation and vivid coloration. Those who pledge to the Kickstarter campaign can secure the exclusive Monoclonius crassus figure complete with vintage-inspired package art. Ezra’s new work will also be available during the month long campaign as an 11″ x 17″ signed print which will be limited to only 100 copies.
David painted Monoclonius with the same colors used on the original version of the Dino-Riders figure as an homage to the beloved 80s toy line for this exclusive offer. Check out the two figures side-by-side below:
“Working with Ezra was a great honor and I’m so grateful that he participated in the ‘Beasts of the Mesozoic’ journey. His original Dino-Riders scene is one of the most impressive works I’ve seen for a toy line, seamlessly combining fine art with pop culture. It’s amazing to think that the artist who worked on one of the toy lines that influenced me the most has now created an art piece for my own line of toys,” said David. “On a personal note, Ezra was a wonderful collaborator. Not only is his new Monoclonius piece kinetic and dramatic, but it also really brings you back to a time when pre-history and fantasy felt like one and the same. I know many dinosaur fans will appreciate once again being transported to the fantastic prehistoric landscape in the spirit of the 1980s.”
“It is a pleasure to be asked to help bring to life an educational and fun concept with my painting of Monoclonius,” added Ezra. “The detail that is apparent in the sculpting of this dinosaur is authentic and well researched.”
The Monoclonius crassus action figure will be offered as part of the Beasts of the Mesozoic: Ceratopsian Series Kickstarter, set to launch on September 17.
