The latest project by Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, What We Do In The Shadows) is a World War II satire with Waititi’s signature style from bottom to top. Jojo Rabbit is based on the novel Caging Skies by Christine Leunens and centers on Jojo “Rabbit” Betzler (Roman Griffin Davis), a young boy in Nazi Germany. He discovers that his mother Rosie (Scarlett Johansson) is harboring a young Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in their attic. Because of this, Jojo is forced to face his nationalism, with the help of his imaginary friend — Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi).

Jojo Rabbit will have its world premiere in just a few days at the Toronto International Film Festival. The movie will be out in theaters in the United States on October 18. The first official trailer has just dropped, watch it below!

Despite having been a fangirl for as long as she can remember, it wasn’t until Emelie left the security of her hometown in the north of Sweden for the hustle and bustle of Gothenburg, that she found her tribe and really immersed herself in fandom. She currently works as second line field engineer tech support, and shares her home with cats Loki and Stiles. In her free time you can find her either playing Dungeons & Dragons 5e, or on Twitter (@killingnormalcy) yelling about Critical Role, Marvel, Twenty One Pilots, and Overwatch.
