Nerds and Beyond’s favorite comedy/thriller Driven (directed by Glenn Payne, written by Casey Dillard, and featuring Richard Speight, Jr.) has been making the rounds of the indie film circuit, even recently celebrating its West Coast debut at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles.

Just this past week, Driven was one of the featured films at the FestivalSouth Film Expo in Hattiesburg, MS. FestivalSouth (also known as FSFX) is celebrating its fifth year of paying tribute to the rich and creative culture of Mississippi. The festival showcases emerging artists from the southern state (like Payne and Dillard), as well as those from around the world, and provides a unique opportunity for creative networking.

This year, Driven wowed at FSFX and took home two impressive awards!

The film itself, entered in the “Features (Narrative and Documentary)” category, was awarded the Golden Magnolia Best Narrative Feature Award by the FSFX jury.

For his performance as Roger in Driven, Richard Speight Jr. won Best Actor.

Many congratulations to Payne, Dillard, Speight, and the whole Driven team on a job well done! For the most up-to-date information on the film and possible showings near you, follow @drivenmovie on Twitter.
