The first poster for the upcoming World War II epic Midway has been revealed. Directed by Roland Emmerich (Independence Day) and written by Wes Tooke, Midway will follow the stories of the brave sailors and aviators of the Battle of Midway, the pivotal naval battle that took place between June 4th-June 7th, 1942.

Referred to as “the most stunning and decisive blow in the history of naval warfare” by historian John Keegan, the United States Navy’s victory in the Midway Atoll over the Japanese was considered a major turning point of World War II in the Pacific Theatre.

Midway‘s cast features Woody Harrelson as Admiral Chester Nimitz, Luke Evans as Commander Wade McClusky, Mandy Moore as Anne Best, Nick Jonas as Aviation Machinist Mate Bruno Gaido, and Darren Criss as Commander Eugene Lindsey, among many other notable names including Patrick Wilson, Aaron Eckhart, and Dennis Quaid.

The film is set for a November 8th, 2019 Veteran’s Day weekend release.
