Hulu is taking a step toward inclusivity with the premiere of The Bravest Knight, an animated series based on the incredibly popular children’s book of the same name by author Daniel Errico. The story centers on a same sex couple, Sir Cedric played by T.R. Knight (Grey’s Anatomy) and Prince Andrew played by Wilson Cruz (Star Trek Discovery),  and their 10 year old daughter Nia, played by Storm Reid (A Wrinkle In Time). The troll grunt will be played by the hilarious SNL alum, Bobby Moynihan who also voiced Mel in The Secret Life of Pets.

The Bravest Knight will be one of the first children’s shows to have an openly gay main character. The first five of 13 total episodes ordered will premiere on the streaming service next month. The story centers on Nia’s quest to become the bravest knight while her father, Sir Cedric, regales her with tales of how he went from a pumpkin farmer to a brave knight. Check out the title sequence below!

This is just another example of  Hulu’s commitment to supporting LGBTQ content and creators. The Bravest Knight premieres on Hulu June 21.
