The award-winning documentary Perfect Bid: The Contestant Who Knew Too Much is now available to stream on Netflix.
Produced by CJ Wallis and Mallory Kennedy of Margrette Bird Pictures, Perfect Bid was released in May 2018 and debuted at #1 on iTunes and Amazon for its first full month of release.
Wallis also directed, edited, and animated the film. He and Kennedy are the team behind The Fiddling Horse, starring David Haydn-Jones, which will begin its tour of the festival circuit later this month.
“It’s a love-letter to The Price is Right, its creators, and to all of the fans who have grown up with the show as I did,” said Wallis in a press release.
Also starring Bob Barker, Perfect Bid was awarded “Best Documentary” at the Orlando Film Festival and was chosen as the opening film for Michael Moore’s Traverse City Film Festival.
Here is more information from the press release:
‘Perfect Bid’ chronicles super-fan Ted Slauson’s unique love affair with ‘The Price is Right’ and explores how Slauson became adept at recording and memorizing prices of products featured on the show since its inception in 1972, culminating in him helping a contestant place a perfect bid during a 2008 Showcase, and ending in one of the biggest controversies in game show history as covered by TIME Magazine, Esquire, and TMZ.
Perfect Bid is available on all major streaming platforms, including iTunes, Amazon Video, Google Play, Hulu, and Vudu.
